First Bank contributes to Richmond Friends School

Written by: Susan Richwine  |

Richmond, Indiana – First Bank Richmond announced today that they will donate $2,500 to Richmond Friends School during the month of March 2021. The mission of Richmond Friends School is providing a quality educational experience for each child, creating an environment that nurtures individual intellectual, emotional, creative, spiritual, and physical gifts within a community that is explicitly framed by principles of the Religious Society of Friends.

“We are thrilled with First Bank Richmond's $2,500.00 contribution. Among other things, the award allows RFS to continue contracting additional cleaning and sanitizing work. This support enables RFS teachers and staff to remain focused on supporting students and their families.”

Patti Peterson - Development Officer, Richmond Friends School

“First Bank is pleased to support the work of the Richmond Friends School.  Covid has required some added cleaning expenses for the school this past year and we have sponsored the “Read-a-thon” for the past several years.”

Kim Poinsett, VP/Community Relations, First Bank Richmond

First Bank Richmond is committed to be an integral partner to the communities in which they serve.  Since 1887, not only have they provided their community with sound financial products and services, they have also fostered a philanthropic commitment that has made a significant impact through the dedication of their organization’s resources, talents and time. This commitment is facilitated through the following channels:

  • Financial support pledged through contributions and event sponsorships. In 2020, they proudly donated more than $500,000 to local not-for-profit organizations.
  • Board/employee leadership and participation with local not-for-profit organizations. Last year, 60% of their staff served on a board or a committee and volunteered many service hours, even during a pandemic.
  • Donations (in-kind) and fundraising efforts to promote local initiatives.
