First Bank contributes to Leadership of Shelby County

Written by: Susan Richwine  |

Richmond, Indiana – First Bank Richmond announced today that they made a significant contribution to an organization in our Shelbyville market in the month of September 2020; Leadership of Shelby County, through the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, will receive a contribution in the amount of $1,000.
Since 1988, Leadership Shelby County has brought together hundreds of adult leaders. The graduates of Leadership Shelby County go on to use their expertise and experience in local companies, become active members of our civic and charitable organizations, and lead their local government agencies to enhance their community at all levels. With over 400 alumni, this program has had a significant community impact.

“First Bank has been a tremendous supporter of Leadership Shelby County.  The bank’s financial support is critical to the programs ability to foster leaders in our community.  Additionally, the support of First Bank leaders sharing their experiences provides the program’s participants invaluable insights into challenges and lessons learned.  These sessions are consistently a favorite with participants.” – Scott Shepherd, Leadership Shelby County Facilitator

First Bank Richmond is committed to be an integral partner to the communities in which they serve. Since 1887, not only have they provided their community with sound financial products and services, they have also fostered a philanthropic commitment that has made a significant impact through the dedication of their organization’s resources, talents and time. This commitment is facilitated through the following channels:

  • Financial support pledged through contributions and event sponsorships. In 2019, they proudly donated more than $400,000 to local not-for-profit organizations.

  • Board/employee leadership and participation with local not-for-profit organizations. 65% of their staff served on a board or a committee and collectively volunteered over 3,000 service hours to local not-for-profit organizations.

  • Donations (in-kind) and fundraising efforts to promote local initiatives.
