Richmond, Indiana – First Bank Richmond announced today that they will donate $7,500 to Girls Inc. during the month of March 2021. The funds will be applied to their annual dinner, golf tournament, 5K race and also provides two girls with scholarships to attend summer camp and one-year memberships. Girls Inc.  of Wayne County inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. Their comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.

“Girls Inc. appreciates our long-standing partnership with First Bank. First Bank and other community partners make our work possible- to provide the Girls Inc. Experience. Girls are given opportunities to learn and practice leadership skills, build their confidence, and understand and exercise their rights. Girls Inc.'s work is more relevant now than ever.  Collaborating with empathetic partners like First Bank Richmond in support of our mission gives me deep hope for our community's future. We are so grateful for First Bank and thank them for helping us to inspire ALL Girls to be strong, smart, and bold!”

Marcy Crull,  Executive Director  Girls Inc. Wayne County

First Bank Richmond is committed to be an integral partner to the communities in which they serve.  Since 1887, not only have they provided their community with sound financial products and services, they have also fostered a philanthropic commitment that has made a significant impact through the dedication of their organization’s resources, talents and time. This commitment is facilitated through the following channels:

  • Financial support pledged through contributions and event sponsorships. In 2020, they proudly donated more than $500,000 to local not-for-profit organizations.
  • Board/employee leadership and participation with local not-for-profit organizations. Last year, 60% of their staff served on a board or a committee and volunteered many service hours, even during a pandemic.
  • Donations (in-kind) and fundraising efforts to promote local initiatives.
