First Bank Midwest

Effective July 1, 2026, First Bank Richmond, The Farmers Bank, and Mutual Federal, a division of First Bank Richmond, officially became First Bank Midwest.

As we transition to our new name, customers may continue to see references to our legacy brands, First Bank Richmond, The Farmers Bank, and Mutual Federal, on certain materials, communications, products, and systems for a period of time. This is a normal part of the transition process and does not affect your accounts, services, or banking relationship.

We are excited to begin this new chapter as First Bank Midwest and look forward to bringing you expanded opportunities while continuing to deliver the trusted service you have come to expect.

Merger FAQ – What you need to know

In an effort to keep you informed, we've created this FAQ to hopefully answer some of your questions about the upcoming merger. This will be updated regularly as more questions are answered.

As you can imagine, merging three long-standing community banks is a complicated undertaking. We hope this page serves to keep you informed and help you feel as comfortable with the transition as possible. Every effort is being taken to make this a seamless experience for all our customers. 

What is changing?

We are introducing a new name—First Bank Midwest—along with updated branding.

What is not changing right now?

There are no immediate changes to your accounts, services, locations, or the people you work with. You can continue banking exactly as you do today.

Do I need to do anything?

No. There is nothing you need to do at this time.

Will my routing number change?

There are no changes to your routing number at this time.

Will my account number change?

There are no changes to your account number at this time.

Will my direct deposits or automatic payments be affected?

No. Your direct deposits and automatic payments will continue as usual.

Can I still use my checks with First Bank Richmond on them?

Yes. You can continue using your current checks. They remain valid, and there is no need to replace them at this time.

Will my debit card still work?

Yes. Your current debit card will continue to work as it does today. When your card is replaced or renewed, it may reflect updated branding.

Can I use ATMs at any location?

Beginning July 1, customers of First Bank Richmond, Mutual Federal, and The Farmers Bank will be able to use ATMs across all locations without incurring fees. Any applicable ATM fees will either be waived at the time of the transaction or automatically refunded the following business day.

Will digital and mobile banking change?

There are no changes to how you access or use digital and mobile banking at this time.

Will my statements or documents change?

Over time, you may begin to see the new name and logo on statements and documents. These updates will not affect how your accounts function.

Are my accounts and deposits safe?

Yes. Your deposits remain safe and FDIC insured.

Will branch locations or staff change?

There are no changes to our locations or the teams you work with at this time.

When will I start seeing the new name?

You will begin seeing the new name and logo starting July 1, with updates happening gradually over time.

Will anything change in the future?

There are no immediate changes to how you bank. As we move forward, any updates will be communicated clearly and in advance, with a focus on enhancing your overall banking experience.
