Here are some ideas to rev up the traditional favorite!
It’s that time of year when we huddle around the bonfire to roast hotdogs and produce one of the best inventions since sliced bread – the s’more. For those of you who may have missed this experience, your world is about to change.
The traditional s’more is just three basic ingredients – two graham crackers, a chocolate bar and a marshmallow. Add some heat, stack them up, and those three ingredients become a decadent, gooey pile of heaven. A can’t-eat-just-one confection.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…
Salted Caramel S’More
Two graham crackers, a toasted marshmallow, a drizzle of caramel sauce, a sprinkle of sea salt.
Rice Krispie Treat S’more
Instead of graham crackers, slice a rice krispie treat in half lengthwise. Add the traditional chocolate and marshmallow.
A twist on two childhood favorites!
Peanut Butter Cup S’more
This one makes me want to drop what I’m doing and head right for the fire pit! Substitute the plain chocolate bar for a full-size peanut butter cup.
I’ve died and gone to heaven!
Fudge Stripe S’more
Here’s a shortcut to the basic s’more. Sandwich a toasted marshmallow between two fudge stripe cookies. Voila!
Two ingredients – easy, peasy!
Good enough to serve at a dinner party, this variation is made in your oven in a cast iron skillet.
First, preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spread a layer of chocolate chips and top with a layer of marshmallows (small or large). Heat in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until marshmallows are browned.
Then use graham crackers to scoop up the ooey gooey goodness!
Once you start thinking about the possibilities, your options are endless. Use your imagination and see what you can create with a favorite candy bar or cookie. And when all else fails, the traditional version never disappoints!
