First Banks E-mail Spam Alert

If you receive an email advertising "First Banks" (notice the S on the end of the word Bank) it is NOT from First Bank Richmond. It is someone phishing for information. DO NOT click on the links inside the email. Those links go to a site that looks real, but it is a fabrication with links inside designed to get your personal data. So if you get an email from Firstbanks please delete it immediately because it is spam.'

This is one of the messages received:

"As a Firstbanks customer, your privacy and security always come first. We have been dedicated to customer safety and protection, and our mission remains as strong as ever. We inform you that your Firstbanks Internet banking account is about to expire. It is strongly recommended to update it immediately. Update form is located here. However, failure to confirm your records may result in account suspension. This is an automated message. Please, do not reply.

Sincerely, Firstbanks administration

So please delete any email that looks like the above example. The rule of thumb is, if you're not sure of its origin just delete it. That is always the safest approach to questionable email.
